The Community Service Team of the Department of Physics Education Carries Out Community Service Themed Empowering the Economy of PKK Mothers in Sumberharjo Through Making Homemade Laundry Soap

On August 10, 2024, the Community Service Team (PkM) from the Department of Physics Education carried out an activity entitled "Empowering PKK Mothers in Sumberharjo Village through Making Homemade Laundry Soap". This activity was carried out by the Community Service Team known by Dr. Supardi, M.Si with members Dr. Mona Sari, M.Sc., Dr. Riza Ariyani, M.Sc., Dr. Kuncoro Asih Nugroho, M.Sc., Rita Prasetyowati, M.Sc., and assisted by 4 students, namely Ivathuszalma, Nihadlul Muna, Kiky, and Melisa Purbaningrum. The activity was attended by the Head of Sumberharjo Village, Kurniawan Widiyanto, SE., and 50 members of the local PKK Team.
This activity aims to empower PKK mothers in the creative economy sector by utilizing simple materials to make laundry soap products independently. The material presented includes the steps for making laundry soap, attractive product packaging techniques, and marketing strategies through e-commerce platforms such as Shopee, Tokopedia, and TikTok.
In his remarks, the Head of Sumberharjo expressed his appreciation for this initiative which was considered very useful in improving the skills and economic independence of the community, especially PKK mothers. In addition, this activity is expected to open up opportunities for participants to market their products on digital platforms, thereby expanding the reach of marketing and increasing family income.
The participants seemed enthusiastic in participating in each session of the activity, from soap making demonstrations to packaging practices and discussions on how to market products online. With this training, it is hoped that PKK mothers can produce homemade laundry soap as a new business that can improve family welfare.
This activity was held with funding from the 2024 Assignment Scheme, with the aim of supporting community empowerment through applicable knowledge and practical skills.
