Dr. Kuncoro Asih Nugroho, S.Pd., M.Pd., M.Sc. together with FMIPA UNY physics lecturer Dr. Rida Siti Nur'aini Mahmudah, S.Sc., M.Sc., Dr. Restu Widiatmono, S.Si., M.Sc., Dr. R. Yosi Aprian Sari, M.Si., and physics students Bayu Endro Priyono, Fadly Nurwahyu Hermawan, Insan Chaliq, Putri Diah Sawitri, Syahidah Ulya' Amanina carried out PkM group nuclear atom research activities in the form of training activities. The PkM activity is entitled "Training on Spectrophotometry and Blood Sedimentation Rate (LED) in Cancer Detection to Increase the Insight of Physics Teachers at the Yogyakarta City High School Physics MGMP". The targets of PkM activities are Yogyakarta City MGMP Physics teachers. The activities are carried out face-to-face and independently at the FMIPA UNY campus. Face-to-face activities were carried out on June 28 2024 and July 19 2024. Meanwhile, independent activities were carried out from June 28 2024 and August 30 2024. The training activity aims to provide practical training to Yogyakarta City Physics MGMP teachers regarding the basics of spectrometry in measuring absorbance , measurement of erythrocyte sedimentation rate (LED) using the Westergren tube method, and data analysis and graph creation using software for visualization of measurement results. This activity provides benefits for Yogyakarta City High School Physics MGMP teachers, namely broadening their knowledge regarding the application of physics in the health sector, improving skills in using spectrophotometry and LED equipment, and being able to provide learning material that is more relevant and interesting for students. Through this activity, Yogyakarta City High School Physics MGMP teachers are expected to be able to develop understanding and skills in applying physics concepts for health screening, so that physics learning becomes more interesting and relevant for students.
