UNY Himafi Holds National Seminar

(8/10/2016) The Physics Education Student Association held a national seminar in the Seminar Room FMIPA UNY Karangmalang Yogyakarta. The 2016 National Seminar on Physics and Physics Education at Yogyakarta State University this time raised the theme "Optimizing the Role of Physics and Physics Education in Technology Through Research Development to Increase Global Competitiveness in the MEA Era", where this activity was held in order to provide an academic platform that facilitates scientists, students , teachers, practitioners, education observers and the general public to gain knowledge and insight regarding the role of physics and physics education in technology through research development to increase global competitiveness in the AEC era.

The national seminar invited two speakers, namely Dr. Muhammad Dimyati, Director General of Strengthening Research and Development at the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education and Ir. Ananto Kusuma Seta, M.Sc., Ph.D, Expert Staff for Innovation and Competitiveness of the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Dr. Muhammad Dimyati, in the first session presented a presentation with the theme "Optimizing the Role of Physics and Physics Education in Technology Through Research Development to Increase Power"
As the first speaker, he thoroughly discussed Indonesia's competitiveness in ASEAN, a portrait of the Mathematics and Natural Sciences study program and Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education, National Research and Development policies, and the role of the Mathematics and Natural Sciences study program and Mathematics and Natural Sciences education in increasing the nation's competitiveness. Specifically, there are three roles of physics and physics education, namely: 1. Encouraging the introduction of young researchers (young people) that there are many research objects in Indonesia that can be explored so that they can produce a Nobel. 2. Encourage and set an example to continue carrying out basic (fundamental) research that inspires other researchers. 3. Continuously carry out research that inspires and becomes a source of innovation for applicable research and development. As the second resource person, Ir. Ananto Kusuma Seta, M.Sc explained the topic of Reforming Physics Education for Creating Global Competitive Innovators. This seminar was attended by 434 people with 60 speakers, from students, teachers, lecturers and researchers.
