Physics Education Study Program, FMIPA UNY Earns Full International Accreditation from ASIIN

The Physics Education Study Program, Department of Physics Education, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Yogyakarta State University, has officially achieved full international accreditation from ASIIN (Accreditation Agency for Study Programs in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Mathematics), Germany. The accreditation certificate was issued on 14 October 2025 and is valid from 23 September 2024 until 30 September 2030.

This recognition affirms that the Physics Education Study Program meets high-level international standards in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The accreditation highlights the excellence of the curriculum, learning processes, graduate competencies, and quality assurance system that is continuously improved within the program.

ASIIN accreditation confirms that the Physics Education Study Program of FMIPA UNY is aligned with Level 6 of the European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning (EQF LLL). With this achievement, graduates are ensured global recognition of their competencies and wider opportunities for international academic and professional mobility.

Dr. Yusman Wiyatmo, M.Pd as the Head of the Department of Physics Education expressed deep appreciation to all academic staff and stakeholders who contributed to the quality assurance efforts throughout the accreditation process. “This international recognition marks a significant milestone in advancing UNY’s vision as a World Class University and enhances the global competitiveness of our graduates in Physics Education,” he stated.

With this accreditation in place, the Physics Education Study Program remains strongly committed to delivering high-quality education, fostering innovation through research-based learning, and strengthening international collaborations in the years to come.
