Uniqueness and Excellence of Physics Study Program
Primary tabs
The Physics Education Undergraduate Study Program, FMIPA UNY, has several unique features: The Physics Education Study Program has a Curriculum, Model, and Design Research Group in Physics Learning, a Physics Media and Learning Resources Group, and a Physics Education Assessment and Evaluation Group. These three research groups can support the Student Final Project (TAS) research that is already based on TPACK and local wisdom as shown by the TAS titles, such as the use of technology for physics learning, ethnoscience, integration of traditional games with physics, and integration of traditional food with physics. The learning techniques used by all lecturers in the Study Program have utilized technology to develop learning material content. This uniqueness is directed at meeting the graduate competencies that are the demands of the 21st century. Graduate competencies are the ability to think critically, think creatively, collaboratively, communicate, have character, and be good citizens.
The Physics Education Undergraduate Study Program, FMIPA UNY, has several advantages:
1. Focus on Integration of Physics and Education: This study program focuses on the Integration of Physics and Education, not only studying physics conceptually and experimentally but also developing innovative teaching strategies so that students are ready to become competent educators.
2. Microteaching Laboratory and Partner Schools: Students can practice teaching in the Microteaching Laboratory before going directly to UNY partner schools, ensuring students' readiness to manage learning in the classroom.
3. Use of Technology in Physics Learning: This program emphasizes using technology, such as digital simulations, virtual experiments, and the development of ICT-based learning media, to improve the effectiveness of physics learning.
4. Integrated PPG Program Support: UNY is the organizer of Teacher Professional Education (PPG), which makes it easier for its graduates to obtain teacher certification after completing their Bachelor's degree
5. MBKM-Based Curriculum: Students are allowed to take courses across study programs and take part in internship programs, student exchanges, and independent research projects so that they are better prepared to face the world of work
6. National and International Cooperation: This study program has collaborations with various foreign universities, leading schools, and research institutions, which open up opportunities for students to take part in student exchanges, international seminars, and global research collaborations
