FORUM SILATURAHMI (FOSIL) 2023:"EDUCATION PROSPERITY DIALOGUE: UNITED FOR CHANGE”

The Friendship Forum (Fossil) 2023 event was held by the Physics Student Association, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (HIMA Physics, Faculty of Natural Sciences (FMIPA), UNY) on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 09.20-11.20 WIB. Fossil 2023 was implemented in a hybrid manner, namely by combining online forums with offline forums. The online Fossil 2023 activities were carried out via Zoom meeting and attended by 26 students, while seven lecturers and 48 students participated in the offline Fossil 2023 activities. This activity takes the theme "Educational Welfare Dialogue: United for Change" to increase synergy between the academic community in the Department of  Physics Education, FMIPA UNY.

The event began with an opening by two Master of Ceremonies, namely Muhammad Neyza Arunggajaya and Gandisvara Pradnya Paramitha Murti, then continued with remarks from the Chair of the Physics Association,  FMIPA UNY 2023, namely M. Zoelfikar Romicio Malanua. Then the speech was continued by the Head of the Department of Physics Education, FMIPA UNY, namely  Prof. Dr. Heru Kuswanto, M.Si. After that, continued remarks by Prof. Drs. Jaslin Ikhsan M.App Sc., Ph.D. as Deputy Dean for Academic, Student and Alumni Affairs, followed by the symbolic opening of the Fossil event. In his speech, the Head of the  Physics Association said that this event was a forum for discussion and a bridge between students and the Department of Physics Education, FMIPA UNY. The Head of the Department of Physics Education, FMIPA UNY, also said that he supports the implementation of this Fossil. Apart from that, Prof. Drs. Jaslin Ikhsan M.App Sc., PhD, said that holding activities such as Fossil was necessary and that students should not be afraid to express their aspirations.

The event continued with a discussion of topics regarding lectures guided by Ghazy Refrindramiqdad G. as moderator. The issues discussed in this event were taken from aspirations submitted through a questionnaire previously distributed to students, as well as the results of interviews with lecturers, laboratory assistants and academic sub-divisions. Two topics are raised in this discussion, namely clarity of administration and lectures and lecture learning methods. In the first topic, issues regarding the transparency of MBKM conversion and MBKM problems are discussed, the selection of undergraduate thesis supervisors and the preparation of the supervisors of undergraduate thesis, intermediate semester issues, and lecture facilities. Then, the second topic discusses student discipline, enthusiasm and ethics. After the discussion session is finished, the event closes with documentation or a group photo between the lecturer and students. After holding this event, it is hoped that it can strengthen ties and improve communication between the academic community within the  Department of Physics Education, FMIPA UNY.
